A metropolitan magistrate court at Ballard Pier, Mumbai, observed that Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was the victim of the alleged act of the accused number 1, Hollywood star Richard Gere, who publicly kissed the actress during an event as a part of the promotion of AIDS awareness in Rajasthan in the year 2017.
Shilpa Shetty was accused of obscenity and indecency after Hollywood star Richard Gere, a co-accused in this case, twirled the actress in his arms, arched her over and planted three kisses on the cheek at an AIDS awareness event in Rajasthan.
Mumbai court discharged Shilpa Shetty in a case of obscenity that was filed against her after Richard Gere publicly kissed her. Once the police report and documents were presented Metropolitan Magistrate Ketaki Chavan, was satisfied that the charges against B town actress Shilpa Shetty were groundless. Hence, she was discharged from offences. After the incident, 3 cases, 2 in Rajasthan and 1 in Ghaziabad, were filed against Shilpa on charges of obscenity. Her plea to transfer the case to Mumbai was allowed by Supreme Court in 2017.
On the otherside, the actress was all over the news last year after her husband and businessman Raj Kundra was arrested in a p*rnography related case. Raj Kundra is currently out on bail.
