Today, KL Rahul was appointed as the captain of the team India for their second warm-up match against Western Australia XI at W.A.C.A in Perth. However, Rohit Sharma isn’t rested from the game and is performing as a talented batter. Rahul played in the first warm-up match on the 10th of this month, but didn’t appear to bat.

In the meantime, Virat Kohli isn’t a part of the warm-up match. Ravi Ashwin was asked about Kohli’s participation in either of the two practice games in Perth, post the initial match. Replying to the statement, Ashwin said he would have answered the question had he been in head coach Rahul Dravid’s shoes. Kohli last played in the three-match T20I series against Temba Bavuma’s South series against Temba Bavuma’s South Africa, after which he hadn’t participated in the ODI series.

Prior to the mega event, India will also face the defending champions Australia and previous year’s runner-up New Zealand in two more warm-up games.
