Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently busy working on upcoming social message oriented movie Acharya under the direction of Koratala Siva of Janatha garage and Bharat Ane Nenu fame. As Chiranjeevi wants to work with young filmmakers once he wraps up Acharya, he has joined hands with Meher Ramesh for the remake of 2015 Tamil hit, Vedalam in which Thala Ajith played the lead role.
Megastar has already started preparing for his character and also had a look test a few days ago. Now the reports are coming that Megastar Chiranjeevi and Koratala Siva film will have a Kolkata backdrop.
The sources say that Meher Ramesh has already visited Kolkata and has locked a few locations for the shooting of this film, which will be jointly bankrolled by Ram Charan and NV Prasad. Meher Ramesh has always been close to Mega heroes and he wants to make a comeback as a director too.
Earlier it was said that an announcement about this film would be made on 22nd August on the occasion of Chiranjeevi’ birthday but that didn’t happen. Interestingly the Vedalam remake was initially planned to be made with Power Star Pawan Kalyan a couple of years ago but now Chiranjeevi is all set to play the lead role.
