Few days ago, the former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari said that the birth centenary celebrations of her father and Telugu Desam Party founder-president NT Rama Rao would be conducted for one year from 28th May, 2022. According to her, the celebrations will begin at NTR Ghat at 7.30 am on 28th May with the screening of a short film “NTR Mahonnathuda”.
The former Union Minister paid homage to her father’s samadhi at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad today morning and on this occasion, she said that the BJP senior leader stated that the image of late NTR will be on a 100 rupee coin very soon and that they are also in talks with the Reserve Bank of India about this.
Daggubati Purandeswari also said that the celebrations would be conducted in Hyderabad, Khammam, Tirupati, Warangal, Nizamabad, Ongole, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and other cities in both Telugu States- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. On this occasion, cine artistes, politicians and prominent persons in various fields would be felicitated. She further states that two mega events will be held, one in Vijayawada and the other in Hyderabad.
On the otherside, Hindupur MLA and actor Balakrishna paid tributes to legendary Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on the occasion of his centenary birth anniversary celebrations. Balayya Babu garlanded the statues of NTR and his wife Basavatarakam.
