Varma, the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy, marks the debut of Dhruv. Announced last November, the regular shooting of the film, which was started in Kathmandu, Nepal, in March this year, has been completed. The audio launch event of Varma will take place on grand event on 22nd September in VIT University on the eve of Dhruv’s birthday. It has come out that the first look poster of Varma will be officially released on 23rd September.
Directed by filmmaker Bala, the award winning director, Bengali actress Megha Choudhary is playing the love interest of Dhruv. This project also marks Megha Choudhary’s Tamil debut. Varma is bankrolled by E4 Entertainment, producers of popular Malayalam films such as Ezra and Godha. Radhan is rendering the tune and the movie is expected to hit the theaters in the month of November. Expectations are high on this film as it will mark the debut of Vikram’s son Dhruv in the Tamil film industry.
Vijay Devarakonda starrer Arjun Reddy, one of the biggest hits in the Telugu film industry last year, was made on a budget of Rs 5 Cr but it went on to rake in Rs. 65 Cr at the box office. Its immense success at box office prompted several filmmakers to vie for its remake rights but eventually it went to Bala.
Recently during a recent interview as a part of promotional activities of Saamy Square, Vikram revealed that Dhruv has left for the US for his higher education.
