Lok Sabha Elections 2019 ScheduleThe Election Commission of India (ECI) announced Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh (AP) and a few other states’ Assembly Polls schedule on Sunday. The Voting will be conducted in 7 phases for the Lok Sabha election 2019. The 1st  phase of voting will take place on 11th April whereas the last phase will be held on 19th May. The results of the elections will be announced on 23rd May.

The AP Assembly Polls and Telangana and AP Lok Sabha polls have been scheduled in the first phase itself which falls on 11th April.  The elections will also be held in other states like Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha – along with parliamentary polls.

Phase 1: 91 Seats:  April 11

Phase 2: 97 Seats:  April 18

Phase 3: 115 Seats:  April 23

Phase 4: 71 Seats:  April 29

Phase 5: 51 Seats:  May 6

Phase 6: 59 Seats:  May 12

Phase 7: 59 Seats:  May 19

The term of the Lok Sabha ends on 3rd June.

The Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said that around 90 Cr people have been registered as voters for the 2019 general election. It includes 1.5 Cr new voters in the age group of 18 -19.

 Yesterday, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on his twitter, “Best wishes to the Election Commission, all those officials and security personnel who will be on the field, across the length and breadth of India assuring smooth elections. India is very proud of the EC for assiduously organising elections for several years.”
