Mahanati Collections : Mahanati – The biopic of South Indian legendary actress Savitri is huge hit at the box office.   Keerthy Suresh and Nag Ashwin are receiving lot of applause from movie lovers. Keerthy Suresh plays titular role of Mahanati Savitri whereas Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan plays the role of Gemini Ganesan.  Mahanati, helmed by Nag Ashwin, has earned Rs 25.31 Cr shares at the box office both Telugu States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, after the successful run of 26 days.

Samantha Akkineni essays the role of journalist Madhuravani, Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey as Savitri’s childhood friend Susheela, Vijay Deverakonda as Anthony, Akkinnei Naga Chaitanya as his grandfather ANR, whereas senior actor  Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao. Mahanati, is bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies and it has the music by Mickey J Meyer.

Gemini Ganesan’s daughter are unhappy as her father is portrayed badly in Mahanati.  Recently Vijaya, grand daughter of K.V. Choudhary’s brother  talked about Savitri Mahanati and said, Savitri was accompanied to Madras by Choudhary.  Choudhary was drunkard  and Savitri was grown up in a household where the elders drink a lot. She also accused  Mahanati Savitri’s daughter Chamundeswari of neglecting her mother.

 Recently during the media interaction Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey opened up about  Mahanati.  The actress revealed that her dream is to play legendary actress Mahanati on screen. When Nag Ashwin, the director of Mahanati, offered the role and said that the movie will have portions related to stage plays, she immediately gave her nod. Shalini Pandey added that she is elated about being a part of Mahanati but she didn’t know much about Savitri.
