Maharshi overseas rights sold out for a bomb

Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi is progressing at the brisk pace and is in the last leg of shoot. The movie is hot in trade. According to the latest update, Great India Films acquired the overseas rights of Maharshi for the whopping price.

The sources close to the film unit reveal that the overseas rights of Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi has been sold out for Rs 12.5 Cr.

The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shoot by the mid of this month. Pooja Hegde who was last seen in Trivikram Srinivas’ directorial venture Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava is on the board to play the love interest of Mahesh Babu whereas Allari Naresh will be seen as their friend in this film, which is being helmed by Vamsi Paidipally of Oopiri fame.

Maharshi was initially set for 5th April release, but it was postponed by more than a month, due to the delay in its shooting which also caused the delay in its teaser launch. The movie is slated to hit the theaters on 9th May in a very grand manner.

On the occasion of Ugadi, the makers of Maharshi released the teaser, which went viral and created record on Youtube. According to makers of Maharshi, the teaser has received a total of 12.6 million views in 24 hours. The production house Sri Venkateswara Creations wrote on Twitter, “12.6 Million Real Time Views in 24 hours RISHI is on RAMPAGE”

Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi teaser has broken all the existing records in terms of views. However, it could not break the records in terms of likes.

Maharshi is bankrolled by C. Ashwini Dutt, Dil Raju and Prasad V. Potluri, under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies, Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema whereas it has the music by Devi Sri Prasad.
