In the past, Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj have worked together for an action-comedy movie Dookudu, which was directed by Srinu Vaitala and produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Anil Sunkara.

The film Sarileru Neekevvaru marks the return of Vijayashanthi and also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Rajendra Prasad and Rao Ramesh, among others in the crucial roles. The movie is helmed by Anil Ravipudi of F2 Fun and Frustration and is produced by Dil Raju, Anil Sunkara, and Mahesh Babu under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, AK Entertainments, GMB Entertainment. With music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Rathnavelu, the film is scheduled to release on 11th January 2020.
