Krishna district Gannavaram police have arrested a Pravasandra. He was accused of posting obscene posts on social media against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the YCP government and the party. The police have arrested this expatriate named Kotiratna Anjan of Kogunuru. Kotiratna Anjan was taken into custody early Wednesday morning. But on Thursday evening he was produced before Additional Junior Civil Judge Sirisha. He said that the accused Anjan was posting obscene posts on social media to tarnish the image of the government and increase enmity between the two communities. The police asked the judge to remand him.

The lawyer for the accused said that there is no need for remand in this case and notices are sufficient. To this extent, lawyer Gudipati Lakshminarayana presented his arguments on behalf of the accused. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the judge refused to remand the accused. Orders were also issued that remand could not be imposed. Going into the details of this case,Koti Ratnam Anjan belongs to Gannavaram, he studied EMS in America.  He worked there for a short time. After that he returned home and stayed with his parents in Gannavaram.

Based on a specific complaint against the accused, Gannavaram police inspector P Kanaka Rao claimed that he created accounts on Facebook, Twitter,  and Instagram and uploaded many objectionable posts against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, promoting hate speech and unverified news on several political leaders.
