MAA elections took place on 10th October. Manchu Vishnu and Prakash Raj contested for the president post. Manchu Vishnu, son of senior actor Mohan Babu, bagged 380 votes while Prakash Raj, who was branded as non-local by some supporters of the rival panel, secured 274 votes. Manchu Vishnu won his election over the Prakash Raj panel in the recently concluded Maa elections. Today, as it is the ongoing Dussehra season, Manchu Vishnu took the charge as the Maa president and he started office today.
Manchu Vishnu took to his twitter and shared a pic of him from MAA office and said: I have today assumed the office of the President of MAA! Need all your wishes and send me positivity as much as you can. #MAA. His pic is going viral on the social media.
According to the election officer, 68 percent of the polling was recorded, which was the highest in the history of the MAA. Out of 925 members of MAA, 883 were eligible to cast their votes, of which 605 members have turned up to vote for the 26 member body comprising the President, Executive Vice President, two Vice Presidents, General Secretary, two Joint Secretaries, Treasurer and 18 Executive Committee members.
Manchu Vishnu has promised Maa building and many other aspects for MAA.
