The creative and talented film maker Mani Ratnam is coming up with his directorial venture Ponniyan Selvan to enthrall the movie lovers. Not many know that Mani Ratnam wanted to make Ponniyin Selvan for a long time now. He wanted to make this film Ponniyan Selvan with the versatile actor Kamal Haasan in 1994 but things did not materialize. In 2010, Mani Ratnam approached Mahesh Babu to play the role of Arulmozhi Verman. Though Sarkaru Vaari Paata fame actor showed his interest but unfortunately Mani Ratnam did not find financiers to bank this drama.
When in 2019, the film maker found financiers and started the shoot of film with Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Rai. If the film would have been made in 2010, Mahesh Babu would have been part of this film. After Kamal Haasan, Mahesh Babu was the second choice for Mani Ratnam’ Ponniyan Selvan.
Ponniyan Selvan deals with the power struggle of the Chola empire during the 10th century.
As the big budget drama is releasing in September, the team has started the promotional activities. Ponniyin Selvan: I has already managed to create a lot of hype among the movie lovers. The recently released teaser of this epic historical drama has definitely added to the excitement.
