A Maoist was killed in an encounter with police. This incident took place in Telangana’ Bhadradri Kothagudem district today on Wednesday. The District Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt said the exchange of fire took place in Bodugu forest area near Chhattisgarh border when a group of Maoists were moving in area as part of their efforts to step up their activities.
This incident occurred when the police squad was conducting combing operations in the forests area based on reliable inputs about the movement of five to six Maoists led by the CPI Manuguru area committee commander Ravi in the forest fringe areas. One Maoist was killed whereas other Maoists managed to escape, police has recovered some weapons from the spot.
The Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt said, after the exchange of fire ended, they found the dead body of a Maoist and two weapons at the spot.
