Global IT giant Microsoft will establish 3 more data centres in Hyderabad in addition to 3 that it would be setting up in Telangana.

According to IT and Industries Minister KTR, a total of 6 data centres coming up in Telangana are estimated to be deployed in a phased manner in coming 10-15 years.

A day after Bharti Airtel announced a hyperscale data centre with a 60 megawatts (MW) capacity to be set up at a cost of Rs 2,000 cr, On Thursday the IT giant Microsoft said that it would be establishing 3more data centres in Hyderabad,  each of 100 MW IT load capacity. This would be in addition to 3 data centres that Microsoft had announced it would be establishing in the State at a cost of Rs 16,000 cr.

The upcoming projects were discussed by Microsoft president Ahmed Mazhari with Telangana IT and Industries Minister KTR and ITE&C principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan at the Microsoft Cafe in Davos.

Minister KTR said, “Microsoft and Hyderabad have had long term mutually beneficial relationship and I am very happy to learn that Microsoft will expand in Telangana with huge digital infrastructure projects. I look forward to seeing Microsoft continue to grow in  Telangana.”
