Divita Rai, is representing our country India at the 71st edition of Miss Universe and she turned into ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’ (golden bird) for the National Costume round. Divita’ outfit for the event – Miss Universe 2023 was designed by Abhishek Sharma.
The outfit personified ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’ – ‘the ethereal portrayal of India as golden bird which is a symbol of the wealth of our rich cultural heritage.
The pageant will take place on 14th January and over 80 countries from across the globe will participate in this competition for the crown. The beauty pageant will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, US. Divita Rai dazzled in a golden gown which was a tribute to India. The winner will be crowned by Harnaaz Sandhu, the reigning Miss Universe from India.
Before the final round where winner will be announced, several rounds of competition including the ‘National Costume’ round took place. India’s entry for Ms Universe, Divita Rai, turned into a breathtaking ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’ by wearing a golden lehenga with wings.
Divita Rai is hailing from Karnataka. She was crowned Miss Universe India on 28th August, 2022, in Mumbai by Harnaaz Sandhu, the outgoing Miss Universe India & Miss Universe 2021. She will now compete in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant as India’s representative.
