Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal starrer historic epic war drama Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, directed by Priyadarshan. is going to hit the theaters on 26th March 26th. According to the latest report, the film will be simultaneously released in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi. Priyadarshan was all set to release his magnum opus Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea just before the lockdown was announced in the month of March last year but the film ’release date was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown
In the past, the teaser of Marakkar: were launched by Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan in Telugu, Suriya in Tamil, Yash in Kannada and Akshay Kumar in Hindi respectively. The film also has National award winning actress Keerthy Suresh, Suniel Shetty, Arjun and Kalyani Priyadarshin in the crucial roles.
Mohanlal is essaying the titular role of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval chief of the Zamorin of Calicut in this film which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Ashirvad Cinemas. Mohanlal starrer Marakkar is touted to be the most expensive Malayalam flick.
On the otherside, Malayalam star Mohanlal is also the part of another thriller movie Drishyam 2, which will be released on Amazon Prime Video.
