After delivering his National Award-winning film Mahanati in 2018, filmmaker Nag Ashwin is busy filming his next, tentatively titled Project K which has Young Rebel star Prabhas in the lead role. Deepika Padukone has been brought on the board to play the female lead role and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be seen playing the important role in this science fiction drama. It is a highly ambitious big budget spectacle never seen before in Indian cinema.
Recently during the media interaction, the film producer Ashwani Dutt revealed that the film director Nag Ashwin opted to cast Mrunal Thakur opposite Prabhas for Project K initially. After Nag Ashwin heard the storyline of romantic saga Sita Ramam, he suggested the Sita Ramam team to cast Mrunal Thakur to essay the role of Sita. Hence the director Nag Ashwin roped in Bollywood babe Deepika Padukone as the leading lady.
On the other side, Mrunal Thakur is currently basking in the glory of her recently released film Sita Ramam which has Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role and Rashmika Mandanna in the important roles. Currently the actress is flooding with the offers from number of top film makers.
Coming on Project K, it is being shot like a big budget Hollywood film with blue and green screens. Nag Ashwin has applied a unique strategy of shooting each schedule and then taking the break in between to edit the portions that he has shot.
