Naga Babu has been roped in upcoming NTR biopic, which is being helmed by Krish, say sources. He will be seen playing SV Ranga Rao. Nandamuri Balakrishna is essaying the role of his father in the film which is being made on the life of actor and late Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. In Nag Ashiwn’s directorial venture Mahanati, the biopic of legendary actress Savitri, Mohan Babu played the role of SV Ranga Rao but the makers of NTR biopic have brought Naga Babu on the board to portray SV Ranga Rao. Whether it is a rumour or real, will be decided very soon. If the news is true, the makers will make official announcement very soon regarding the presence of Naga Babu in NTR biopic. It has also come out that once again Keerthy Suresh will play Savitri in NTR biopic.
SV Ranga Rao, who is regarded as one of the finest method actors in the history of cinema, was popularly known as “Viswa Nata Chakravarthi”. Throughout his film career, which spanned a total of thirty years, SV Ranga Rao garnered various National Honors, International Honors, State Nandi Awards, and the Filmfare Special Award – South.
SV Ranga Rao’s first film was Mana Desam in 1949. The same film which launched NTR as an actor and singer Ghantasala as music director. In 1963, SV Ranga Rao garnered the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of Kichaka in Nartanasala at the Afro-Asian Film Festival Held in Jakarta. This year, Naga Babu was seen in blockbuster movie Geetha Govindam starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, which is currently running successfully at the box office. Currently Naga Babu is playing the role of Jr NTR’s father in Trivikram Srinivas’s directorial venture Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. Recently few stills from the sets that featured Jr NTR and Naga Babu were leaked on the Internet and went viral on social media.
