Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced separation by releasing a joint statement in October last year. The speculations about their rift started when Samantha Prabhu Ruth dropped her surname Akkineni on social media.
She changed her display name on Instagram and Twitter to ‘S’. An old interview of Samantha has resurfaced on the Internet. It was during a talk show that Samantha had stated how Naga Chaitanya is simply perfect for her while giving an example that she did not have money to call her home when in the US, and Naga Chaitanya helped her.
During a talk show U Turn fame actress Samantha had said, “Chaitu is completely husband material. He has seen me from nothing. I remember I did not have money to make a call to my mother from the US. I took his phone and made a call home. As a human being also, Nag Chaitanya has seen me make the most horrible mistakes.”
Sam and Chaitu, stars of films such as Ye Maaya Chesave, married in 2017. Samantha recently deleted her announcement of the separation. On the work front, Naga Chaitanya is currently waiting for the release of his Hindi film Laal Singh Chaddha which has Aamir Khan in the lead role.
