Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni are coming together to entertain the audiences with an upcoming romantic and emotional drama Majili. Naga Chaitanya admits that it was not easy being with his wife Samantha on screen. Recently during the media interaction, Naga Chaitanya opened up about Majili and his wife. He said,” I didn’t recommend my wife Samantha’ name for the main role in Majili.” According to him, Samantha was not his choice, she was Shiva Nirvana’s choice.
Nine years ago, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya fell in love on the sets of Gautam Menon’s Ye Maaya Chesave. Now after wedding, this is the first time when both are working together for a movie Majili, which is directed by Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori fame.
Naga Chaitanya said, “When we first met during Ye Maaya Chesave, we played young lovers. Later we did a couple of other films together, including the family film Manam. Now, in our upcoming film Majili, we are playing a married couple.”
He added, “Before starting the shoot of Majili, we decided that whenever we work together, we will leave our personal relationship at the home. Also, whatever we do together on the screen has to take our combination forward.”
Majili is all about the story of a man from his first love to marriage. About his role in Majili, Naga Chaitanya said, “There is a wide arc in the graph of my character in this flick. I will be seen playing a young lover and also a married man.”
Naga Chaitanya also praised Samantha by saying that she is constantly pushing the envelope. she is doing more challenging roles now days.
Currently Samantha is enjoying the success of her recent offering Super Deluxe in which she played the role of vamp. She is also the part of Oh Baby.
