It is known that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Rajya Sabha member Joginapally Santosh Kumar launched a citizens’ initiative, Green India Challenge, on July 17, 2018, with the slogan ‘Hara hai toh bhara hai’. The MP  set the trend by adopting the 2,042 acre Keesara Gutta reserve forest near Hyderabad in 2019.

He has spent Rs 3 crore from his MP local area development funds and the family resources to plant 60,000 saplings there. Joining in the Green India Challenge initiated by J Santosh Kumar, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has come forward to adopt a 1000 acre reserved forest area. Bigg Boss host Nagarjuna asked Green India Challenge Founder Santosh Kumar how many saplings were planted under Green India Challenge, to which he replied, “we have planted 16 crore plants.”

Host Nagarjuna promised to become part of the movement and adopt 1000 acres of forest.  In the Big Boss house, Nagarjuna planted a sapling given by Santosh Kumar and assured on propagating the spirit of Green India Challenge.

On this occasion, Santosh Kumar said, “We have taken up  the Green India Challenge program to make everyone plant trees and protect them. “

On the  otherside, Nagarjuna will be seen playing  the lead role in  Praveen Sattaru’ directorial venture The Ghost.
