Nani’ debut production AWE has won two National awards in the category of Best Make Up and Best VFX work. 66th National Film awards were announced by Rahul Rawail, the head of the Jury for feature films, yesterday on Friday. The national film awards are given in 31 categories. Uttarakhand won this year. Keerthy Suresh has won best actress for Mahanati.
Awe is psychological thriller film directed by Prasanth Varma and produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni. The movie starring Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba, Srinivas Avasarala, Priyadarshi Pullikonda and Murali Sharma. Awe deals with psychological issues like dissociative identity disorder, and social problems like child abuse, s*xual abuse and drug abuse. Awe is the first Tollywood film to deal with homos*xual relationships and s*x reassignment surgery.
