Punjab Congress leader and former Team India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu is going to be released from jail today. The court sentenced Siddhu to prison in the case of the death of the man in the attack due to a quarrel with a man on the side of the road. Navjot Singh Sidhu served ten months imprisonment in Patiala court as per court verdict. This attack happened 34 years ago. On the other hand, when Navjot Singh Sidhu was released from jail, a statement came out from his official Twitter account. The statement informed that after his release from the jail in the afternoon, Sidhu will speak to the media in front of the Patiala Jail.
The court actually sentenced Navjot Singh Sidhu to one year in jail in this case. Accordingly, he is scheduled to be released in the month of May. However, due to his good behavior in jail, he is being released early within ten months. His sentence was reduced by 48 days. On the other hand, in view of Siddhu’s release from jail, his fans are preparing to make noise at the jail.
According to jail manuals, Sidhu was entitled to four leaves in a month. Navjot Singh Sidhu did not take any leave, so the leaves were deducted from his jail term.
