Gunasekhar is one of the popular film maker in the Telugu film industry. After Rudhramadevi, he planned to come up with Hiranyakshyapa with Baahubali fame Rana Daggubati in the lead role. . Though the film’s pre-production work is completed but it is taking time to hit the floors. Meanwhile, the film maker Gunasekhar decided to come up with another mythological drama. Recently Radhramadevi director made official announcement regarding his project which is titled Shaakuntalam.
Gunasekhar is the writer and director of Shaakuntalam. Neelima Guna is the producer whereas Mani Sharma is the music director. There is a strong buzz in the film industry that Gunasekhar approached Pooja Hegde to play the titular role in Shaakuntalam but she did not show any interest. The reports are also coming that the makers are considering the name of Anushka Shetty. But now according to the latest buzz, neither Pooja Hegde nor Anushka Shetty, but Samantha Akkineni will play the lead role in Gunasekhar’ Shaakuntalam.
The talk in the film circles is that Gunasekhar has approached Samantha Akkineni to play the lead in this film Shaakuntalam.Though this news reading Samantha is yet to be confirmed, it has caught on all over.
Meanwhile Samantha has two Tamil films in her kitty but is yet to sign a Telugu film.
