Once again Lalu Prasad Yadav is in trouble. He has been charged in a new corruption case over suspected irregularities in recruitment between 2004 and 2009, when he was Railway Minister. Central Bureau of Investigation – CBI booked former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in a fresh case of corruption and launched search operations at 17 locations linked to the Rashtriya Janata Dal president and his family members, including daughter Misa Bharti, among others.
He has been charged in this new case just weeks after being given bail in a fodder fraud case. The sources say that the new complaint has listed Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti and other family members. CBI started searching 15 places associated with the RJD founder today, including his houses.
CBI has alleged that Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members received land and properties as bribes for giving out railway jobs.
Last month Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted bail in the 139 cr Doranda Treasury scam case by Jharkhand High Court. In the month of February, CBI special court sentenced the former Bihar chief minister to five years in prison in the case. Mr Yadav was also fined Rs 60 lakh rupees.
