Not Arjun Reddy, he is Kabir SinghShahid Kapoor, who was disappointed with his recent offering Batti Gul Meter Chalu, has shifted his focus to his next project, a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy. Now according to the latest update, the movie has been titled as Kabir Singh. The regular shoot of Arjun Reddy remake Kabir Singh has been already started and Shahid Kapoor has also joined the sets. Now Padmavaat star Shahid Kapoor is not Arjun Reddy, he is Kabir Singh.

Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Singh, will be seen playing the role of a young medico, struggling with alcohol and drug addiction, abusing everything from morphine to cocaine.

The sources close to the film unit reveal that the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had zeroed in on the name (Kabir Singh) while scripting the remake. Shahid Kapoor, who is known for getting under the skin of a character, has been prepping for his role since the last two months. He has grown his hair and beard.

The upcoming drama Kabir Singh will showcases four phases of the protagonist’s life, beginning as a collegian and turning into the professional, followed by a phase of self-destruction and then reformation. The makers are shooting for the portions with a bearded Shahid Kapoor, after which they will move to the clean-shaven parts.

 Kiara Advani, who made her debut with Superstar Mahesh Babu starrer Political drama Bharat Ane Nenu in the direction of Koratala Siva, is on the board to play the love interest of Shahid Kapoor. Lust beauty Kiara Advani is expected to join the sets of Kabir Reddy in the first week of November. The team is planning to move to Delhi in December-January.

 Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Arjun Reddy remake Kabir Singh, is being bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde.

In the Telugu version –Arjun Reddy, Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey played the lead role, in the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and the movie was blockbuster at the box office.
