Yesterday, we had reported that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would be meeting PM Modi regarding the NRC issue happening in Assam. From the fresh update, PM Hasina said she is happy with the assurance given by the Modi over the NRC being implemented in Assam.
She said that Modi has assured over the NRC issue that she had talks with Modi and the latter said everything is okay. Bangladesh PM Hasina Sheikh is concerned over the NRC issue in Assam because as of now Assam has listed 3.11 crore applicants as its citizens and had expelled 1.9 million as illegal immigrants which raised a fear signal as they may be pushed into Bangladesh.
Where Bangladesh too has maintained that it won’t accept any illegal immigrants into their country and neither the expelled illegal immigrants from Assam belongs their place. Today, Hasina Sheikh along with Modi will attend an interactive session with chosen CEOs of India further will be moved to the Inauguration of India-Bangladesh Business Forum (IBBF) at ITC Maurya.
