This movie released in 1977 under the direction of Raghavendra Rao became the biggest commercial hit. It brought NTR the top hero status. Adavi Ramudu became the highest grossing Telugu movie in Tollywood in the 1970s. It has created a record in theaters for more than a year. In this movie Jayasudha and Jayaprada played the female leads.
