Officials informed that there were passengers from Andhra Pradesh in both the trains that met with an accident near Baleshwar in Odisha. Based on the reservation details, there are a total of 150  passengers in the two trains who boarded and alighted at various stations in the state. The family members and relatives have been informed that some of them are safe. However, details of many passengers are not known. Some people said that their phones are not connecting, and some others said that it is being switched. They are all worried about what happened to them.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy inquired about the details of the passengers in the trains that were involved in the accident.

Railway officials revealed that 12 passengers boarded at Tirupati, 12 passengers at Chira, 2 each at Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Rajahmundry and Bapatla  stations, 4 passengers at Bejawada and 8 passengers at Renigunta in the Yeswantpur to Howrah Express train. Altogether there are 52 AP passengers  in Howrah Express.

Based on the reservation details, it seems that there are around 70 Andhra Pradesh passengers in the Coromandel Express coming from Shalimar to Chennai. 47 passengers boarded this train in Vijayawada, 22 passengers in Rajamahendravaram and one passenger in Eluru. Total 70 passengers were to get off in AP. 56 passengers from Rajamahendravaram, 10 passengers from Tadepalligudem, 44 passengers from Eluru and 120 passengers from Vijayawada have made reservations to travel to Chennai Central in the same train. Their journey was canceled due to an accident.
