Today morning OTT giant, Disney Plus Hotstar, has made an official announcement at Disney’s ongoing D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. They have announced their biggest projects Mahabharata. They shared a few pics and tweeted: The greatest epic ever written- retold at a scale never seen before! Stay tuned for an ethereal spectacle- Mahabharat, is coming soon.
Disney+ Hotstar, the video streaming platform owned by Walt Disney, will premiere an adaptation of the mythological epic Mahabharata.
Gaurav Banerjee, Head Content, Disney+Hotstar said at Disney’ ongoing fan event, D23 Expo that the series will be a visual spectacle. He also showcased artwork that gave a glimpse into this series.
The makers are planning to make this project Mahabharat in association with Bollywood producer Madhu Mantena, Mythoverse Studios, and Allu Entertainment. The reports are coming that Greek God of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan will be playing the main lead.
Though the makers did not reveal the cast and the director of the series, Gaurav Banerjee said, “We wanted to create this series as a large scale, web exclusive series. We have been working on this project for months and today you saw the first glimpse of the artwork. We have got a great creative team behind the series.”
