It is known news that Megastar Chiranjeevi is busy in his upcoming film ‘Sya Raa Narasimha Reddy’, the biopic of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and Nandamuri Balakrishna is coming up with ‘NTR’, the biopic of legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the late CM of Andhra Pradesh. Keerthy Suresh and Samantha are also busy in Mahanati- biopic on legendary actress Savitri. Here is another such film. This is not a full pledged biopic of Congress leader, former chief minister, late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, but this will show only his iconic ‘paada yatra’, which voted him to power in 2004.
YSR, as the leader was widely known, died in a helicopter crash in September 2009 during his second term as Andhra Pradesh chief minister.
Mahi V Raghav of Anando Brahma fame is going to helm this biopic. According to the latest update, recently the makers approached Malayalam superstar Mammotty and he has given green signal to the makers. Recently during the media interaction, Mahi confirmed this news as he said, “Mammootty agreed to become the part of this biopic and he will be seen essaying the role of YSR. It is a big budget movie. I am planning to meet the actor again and we will discuss the characterization. The upcoming drama will be titled ‘Yatra’.
Earlier it was heard that Nayantara will be seen essaying the role of YSR’s wife but Mahi has refuted the rumour. He said, “We did not finalize any other cast. We are in the process of approaching a few actors and this might take a few more weeks before we can make an official announcement.”
