Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister asked states and Union Territories to speed up testing in areas where it has gone down. He also urged them to send Covid-19 testing and vaccination data timely.
A large number of people in the state are opting for home isolation, they should be monitored according to the national guidelines. Today, India has reported 2,55,874 Covid-19 cases within 24 hours, and with 614 deaths, the death toll has increased to 4,90,462. The daily positivity rate stands at 15.52% . The total recovered persons are 2,67,753 in the last 24 hours.
Pfizer and BioNtech companies have planned to test the immune response generated by the Omicron-based vaccine both as a booster shot for people who already received dual dose of their original vaccine.. They are also testing a fourth dose of the current vaccine against a fourth dose of the Omicron-based vaccine in people who were inflicted with the third dose of Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine 3-6 months earlier.
The third wave of corona virus is now in the community transmission stage. While it is no more than a statement of the obvious, and has little operational implication at this stage of the epidemic.
