A shooting at YouTube’s California headquarters left at least four people wounded and a female suspect dead of an apparent suicide, police said on Tuesday.
According to San Bruno’s police chief, the alleged shooter was a female. The suspect was found deceased at the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Witnesses on the scene have told media that the alleged shooter may have been the girlfriend of a YouTube employee.
The Police said, four people were transported to local hospitals, including three with gunshot wounds. The three are being treated at San Francisco General hospital, including a 36-year-old man in critical condition and a 32-year-old woman in serious condition. It was not immediately clear where the fourth victim was being treated and in what condition.
The shooting took place in an outdoor cafe at the YouTube campus which houses at least 1,700 employees. Chief Barberini said that the suspect had used a handgun, and that there was no evidence of a second shooter.
US President Donald Trump tweeted, “Was just briefed on the shooting at YouTube’s HQ in San Bruno, California. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved.”
