The big CD and audio CD was unveiled by ‘Pelli Choopulu’ director Tharun Bhascker. ‘Husharu’ director Sri Harsha Konuganti received the first CD.
Speaking on the occasion, Tharun Bhascker said, “With roles coming my way rather unexpectedly, I have turned into an actor temporarily. Acting is a difficult thing. Coming to ‘Mithai’, I am very proud of this movie. Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi are my good friends. The short film ‘Sinema’ and ‘Pelli Choopulu’ were done by us just like that. We never expected that they would become such big hits. I have a feeling that these guys have made ‘Mithai’ having a lot of fun and by loving their work. I hope the audience will suitably reward their work.”
Director Kranthi Madhav said, “I and director Prashant Kumar were classmates. We went to the same college and were also roommates. Prashant has always loved films since his college days. It turned out that I became the director first. I hope ‘Mithai’ is going to be his strong debut. Prashant’s sense of humour and the kind of actors he admires are distinct. I wish everyone all the best. Music director Vivek Sagar has given very good tunes.”
Sri Harsha Konuganti said, “Rahul Ramakrishna is my friend. During the making of ‘Husharu’, he used to tell me a lot of things about ‘Mithai’. I am eagerly waiting to watch this movie. I love dark comedy as a genre.”
Prashant Kumar said, “I thank everyone who has worked for this movie by believing in my story. I thank my brother Prabhat, the producer. I would have launched this movie even if I had no money in my bank account. I went ahead with the firm belief that Prabhat will somehow pool the money needed. Priyadarshi, Rahul and Shafi were always helpful.”
Prabhat Kumar said, “I am a doctor. If I am a producer today, it’s only because of my brother Prashant. He has worked on ‘Mithai’ for 1.5 years.”
Priyadarshi said, “When Prashant Kumar came to me with the script, I read it and discovered that it was a dark movie. I had my apprehensions after reading it. But once Rahul Ramakrishna came on board, I was relaxed. This is the kind of film that gives its actors enough scope to perform. Although the director doesn’t know even a bit of Telugu, he loves Telugu cinema a lot. He pooled the required money to complete the movie. We had a blast while shooting for the movie. You will definitely enjoy the movie when you watch it in the theatres on February 22. It’s our responsibility to make you all laugh out loud.”
Shweta Varma said, “It has been long since we have seen a dark comedy in Telugu. Everyone is going to love ‘Mithai’. I have done a very good character.”
Aditi Myakal said, “I have a small role in the movie. It’s like a guest role. I enjoyed myself shooting for two days.”
Vivek Sagar said, “I hope you guys are going to watch the movie in the theatres on Feb 22. Please listen to the audio as well in the meantime.”
The audio function was graced also by Shafi, Kamal Kamaraju, editor Garry BH, choreographer Yani and others.
