Award-winning Telugu lyricist and Padma Shri awardee Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry passed away yesterday evening following lung cancer-related complications. He was 66. A medical bulletin issued by the KIMS Hospital revealed that he passed away at 4.07 pm. He was admitted on 24th November with pneumonia and  he was put on ECMO.

On Wednesday, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry’ body was taken to the Film Chamber so well-wishers and loved ones can pay their last respects. Tollywood celebs like  SS Rajamouli, superstar Mahesh Babu, Power Star Pawan Kalyan, megastar  Chiranjeevi, Young Tiger Jr NTR, Stylish Star Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Nani, Venkatesh,  Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nandini Reddy, Nandmuri Balakrishna, Saikumar, Dr Rajashekar, Jeevitha and others paid the tribute to Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry.

Venky Mama fame Venkatesh Daggubati offered his condolences to Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry’s family and tweeted: “Disheartened to hear that Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry garu is no more. Deepest condolences to his loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”

Young Tiger Jr NTR tweeted: “The news that Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry was no more made me very upset. Although his pen, written by Aluperugaka, is still standing today, the letters he wrote will remain memorable to all as long as the Telugu language exists. I wholeheartedly pray to God to grant peace to his soul.”
