Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 216-foot tall Statue of Equality commemorating 11th-century Saint Ramanujacharya. Modi  was invited as the Chief Guest for this event, where he addressed the gathering, and also the people of the nation. Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G Kishan Reddy, were present on this occasion.

Narendra Modi said: This statue of Sri Ramanujacharya is a symbol of his wisdom and ideals. Telugu culture has been enriched by noble Saints, Seers, inspiring rulers, thoughtful poets and now the vibrant Telugu cinema which is gaining global popularity.

On Saturday,  India’ PM Narendra Modi hailed the contributions of the Telugu film industry in promoting the glory of Telugu culture.  He said that TFI- Telugu film industry is making its presence felt globally and much beyond the Telugu speaking areas.  The dedication of Telugu speaking people towards their art and culture is an inspiration for all.”

PM Modi also spoke about the kind of impact the Baahubali franchise created and even said that the entire world is currently awaiting the release of films such as  Rajamouli’ RRR.

PM Modi recalled the Indian tradition of its scholars that views  the knowledge above the  rebuttal and acceptance – rejection.
