
An Armed Reserve constable Tanneru Venkateshwarlu Rao, who is working as a highway mobile vehicle driver at NTR district Chillakallu police station, has been detained by the Nandigama police for insulting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. A case was registered against the constable and he was produced in the Jaggaiyapet court. The court remanded Constable Tanneru Venkateshwarlu for 14 days. When Tanneru Venkateshwarlu was on duty, a man mentioned about the salaries of the police. The constable made rude comments on the CM Jagan Mohan Reddy . When the video reached the police, the constable was detained and investigated.
On Friday, the constable was suspended and arrested for allegedly making insulting comments against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the state government. Police Commissioner of Kanthi, Rana Tata, said that the constable, identified as Tanneru Venkateshwarlu, made derogatory remarks against the chief minister Jagan, his family and the government during an interaction with villager at a petrol pump near Gouravaram village in NTR district on 1st January.
The Commissioner said that It is an offence for a responsible public servant to speak in a manner that incites enmity between 2 political parties. The strict action will be taken against anyone found inciting hatred in society despite being in the responsible job.
