Few days ago, Vanniyar Sangam sent legal notice to Tamil actor Suriya, Jyotika, director TJ Gnanavel and Amazon Prime Video. Following this, Suriya’s T Nagar house has got police protection as he received threats.
PMK Mayiladuthurai district secretary Panneerselvam had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for anyone who would attack Suriya when he visits the district.
Suriya’ residence in T Nagar in Chennai has been given armed police protection due to the ongoing row surrounding his recently released movie Jai Bhim, and those in the Vanniyar community alleging that Jai Bhim tarnished their reputation. The police protection was given to Suriya at his residence in T Narag Chennai after an intel report which said that there is threat perception.
Apart from demanding a public apology, Vanniyar Sangam also demanded Rs 5 Cr as damages. Following the notice, members of Vanniyar community issued the threats to Suriya. Nagapattinam district secretary of Pattali Makkal Katchi, Sithamalli Pazhani Saamy also announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to those who attacked the actor Suriya.
Jai Bhim starring Suriya and Prakash Raj, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is produced by Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Productions. Jai Bhim which is winning the hearts of the movie lovers, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
