Police raid at Vonteru Prathap Reddy residence, he attempts suicideBalanagar Zone police Cyberabad Commissionerate conducted raids at the residence of Vonteru Pratap Reddy, the Congress candidate from Gajwel Assembly constituency,  who is contesting against KCR. On Monday, late night hours,  Vanteru Pratap Reddy attempted for suicide by pouring petrol on himself in Hyderabad. Police after reaching his house wanted to conduct searches by alleging that they got the information from the reliable sources about the money distribution in his house.

Vonteru Prathap Reddy’s supporters made slogans against the police and KCR alleging that TRS leaders were trying to torture and threaten their leader on the name of raid and searches. They criticised that with the support of police TRS leaders were targeting Vanteru Prathap Reddy.

Balanagar DCP Padmaja said that they came to implement the orders of State Election Commission.  She added that some people complained to EC that  Vonteru Prathap Reddy and his supporters were distributing money at his residence. She said to help the flying squad officials in searches.

Vonteru Prathap Reddy, dared the EC to take stern action against TRS Boss and Telanagana Chief Minister, K Chandra sekhar Rao (KCR) for violating poll code and decency of democracy by stocking money in Erravalli Farm House to lure the people.

Vonteru Prathap Reddy alleged that there is a huge money stowed in CM KCR’s farmhouse and wondered why the police are not conducting any raids? He said, “KCR’s farmhouse is spread over 337 acres, but he announced it as 57 acres.”

Vonteru Prathap Reddy questioned the EC,  “Why did the police not seize any vehicles of TRS party? He also alleged that even the police are supplying money and liquor.

 Vonteru Prathap Reddy, who is taking on KCR from Gajwel segment for the Assembly polls, suspected the Election Commission for not conducting raids on KCR’s farm house. He said, “The election commission is not functioning properly and did not conduct raids on the farm house as it has a lot of money meant to lure voters. Telangana CM KCR misguided the EC by stating in the affidavit that he has only 57 acres in farm house, against 337 acres. He complained that the police and EC staff were distributing the money and liquor on behalf of the ruling party.

In the 2014 elections too, Vonteru Pratap Reddy had lost to KCR. In upcoming 2018 elections, he has been fielded as the candidate of the Praja Kutami comprising TDP-Congress-TJS and CPI.
