Ponniyin Selvan Box office collections: Mani Ratnam’ magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan has also been receiving praise from several cinema stars that include Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Shankar among others. Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishnan receive special mention for their roles, while national award winning music composer AR Rahman’s music made fans go wow. The Hindi version of Ponniyin Selvan has performed far above expectations on its second weekend and earned Rs 1.50 cr on Day 9, bringing its total collections to Rs 16.50 crore. The traders are saying that Hindi version of the film is looking at a lifetime collection of Rs 25 crore.

According to the trader Analyst Ramesh Bala, the movie is inching towards the Rs 200 crore mark in Tamil Nadu alone. It is only 5th Tamil film in history to have made more than Rs 300 crore worldwide, after 2.0, Kabali, Enthiran and Vikram.
