Indo-American actress Pooja Kumar, who plays a pivotal role in Kamal Hassan-starrer “Vishwaroopam 2“, says the changing image of women in Indian cinema is quite exciting for artistes like her. Recently in media interaction, Pooja Kumar was asked about sexual exploitation and casting couch. Pooja Kumar, “I think it’s important. The women should do work in a safe environment.” She added that the woman who have faced casting couch, should come forward to reveal their stories then everyone will come to know that what they are facing and it will also be good for future generation. We should have to save our sisters.

 Pooja Kumar further said, “ If the actresses are thinking that they will get the chance in movie after sharing the bed, then it is not true. If you are talented and hard worker then you can achieve everything without any compromise.”  When Pooja Kumar was asked, “Did you face casting couch in Film Industry?” She replied, “No I have not faced.”  According to her, the actresses who had compromised, should open up about it that awakens the society.

Born and brought up in the US, Pooja Kumar has acted in various south Indian movies. The actress who was seen in Dr Rajasekhar starrer PSV Garuda Vega, opened up about Vishwaroopam 2 in which she will be seen in Kamal Haasan. She said, “Indian Cinema has  projected women in a very strong manner in the early days. Think about a story like ‘Charulata’ and ‘Avargal’. Both the movies revolve around a female character. The projection of women back then was so strong, interesting and complex enough to connect with reality.” She added, “My character in Vishwaroopam 2 starts from where it has ended in part one.” Vishwaroopam 2 attempts to address the socio-political conflicts in present-day India.
