Ageism, misogyny, and s…ism are so deeply embedded in our culture that we never challenge them, instead, we embrace them in the movies. Ageism and s…ism is when we allow 50 year old male actors ( Superstar Rajnikanth, Aamir Khan, Akshay, Salman, Shah Rukh Khan and others) to play a 25 year old and romance with 20 year old actresses. Recently during the media interaction, Kareena Kapoor Khan, the wife of Aidpurush villain Saif Ali Khan, spoke about ageism and s….ism. The actress said that she believes it exists only on social media.
During the interview, Kareena Kapoor was asked about the existence of ageism and s…ism, to which she replied, “I feel the concept of ageism and s…ism exist only on social media not actually in life because it makes a good topic of discussion.” Kapoor lady believes that in reality, things are different, and everybody gets work if they have the caliber.
Singham lady added, “Age is just a number, the people are doing different characters, you are as old as you look and that’s what you have to go by.”
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor will be seen sharing the screen space with Aamir Khan in an upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha.
