Popular film editor Sri GG Krishna Rao passes away

After the demise of actor and politician Taraka Ratna, Telugu film Industry lost another celebrity. GG Krishna Rao,  who was one of the famous editors of Tollywood, passed away. He breathed his last this morning at his residence in Bengaluru.  Krishna Rao has worked on more than 200 movies as a Film editor and he often collaborated with some of the legendary Tollywood directors such as K. Viswanath, Bapu, Dasari Narayana Rao, Jandhyala,  and many more.

GG Krishna Rao worked more closely with production houses like Poornodaya, and Vijaya Madhavi productions in Telugu film Industry back then.

The three-time Nandi Award-winning editor Krishna Rao suffered from age-related health issues. He worked as an editor for many classics like Chinnabbayi, Milan, Subha Sankalpam, Subhalekha, Sagara Sangamam, Saptapadi, Sankarabharanam, Nalugu Stambalata, ‪Sardar Paparayudu, Seethamaalakshmi, Sri Ramarajyam and Sur Sangam. Besides Telugu, he edited a few Hindi, Tamil and Kannada movies as well.

His popular Hindi movies include Milan, Jwar Bhata 1973, Eeshwar, Sur Sangam, Mastana 1970 and others. He last worked in Subhapradam and Sri Rama Rajyam helmed by K Viswanath and Bapu respectively. He has also worked on sets, as associate director and production designer.
