Kangana Ranaut is currently busy in her upcoming much awaited film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Based on the life of the queen of Jhansi, the actress is going through exhaustive combat and training schedules for the film. Kangana Ranaut is well known face for Telugu audiences as she made her Telugu debut with action drama Ek Niranjan in 2009, directed by Puri Jagannadh and shared the screen space with Young Rebel star Prabhas. Kangana Ranaut who is playing the role of Queen of Jhansi- Rani Laxmibai, has shared a pic of herself from the sets of Manikarnika, on her Instagram and captioned it, “The Warrior Queen, getting ready to battle. #KanganaRanaut, bloodied & resilient, shoots for #Manikarnika s Action sequences with Hollywood Action Director #NickPowell #ManikarnikaOn25thJan”.
Coming on the pic, shared by Kangana Ranaut, she is seen in her warrior avatar with blood and scares on her face. She has an armour on and also holds a sword in her hand. Hollywood action director Nick Powell is seen giving direction to Kangana Ranaut and she is ready to cut the heads of British.
Atul Kulkarni is essaying the role of Tatya Tope and Ankita Lokhande will be seen as Jhalkarbai. Manikarnika is all about the story of Rani Laxmi Bai, who fought the East India Company to save her Jhansi.
Meanwhile, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been mired in controversy for long. First, director Krish left the project mid-way. Later, there was rumour that Kangana Ranaut has hijacked the film as its director.
Not just as an actress, Kangana Ranaut is also directing Manikarnika since Krish, who was earlier supposed to direct has walked out for another project.
During the media interaction, Manikarnika co-producer Kamal Jain said, “The 25th January , 2019, release date is set in stone. The post-production and VFX work are on in full swing. The film needs some post-edit patchwork and the team is working towards completing it soon.”
Meanwhile Prabhas is working with Sujeeth Reddy for Saaho, which will arrive at the theaters next year.
