The blockbuster drama Pushpa: The Rise starring stylish Star Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna was released on 17th December 2021. The rural drama is written and directed by Sukumar. The movie starred Bunny as the titular character alongside Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna while Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Dhananjaya, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay and Ajay Ghosh play supporting roles. The first of two cinematic parts, the film depicted the rise of a low wage laborer in the smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state.
