Star badminton player PV Sindhu won her first singles gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022, held at Birmingham. Finally, she exhibited her talent and expertise and accomplished it. She is 27-year-old. This is her third Commonwealth Games singles medal and first gold.
Earlier, she won Silver in 2018 and Bronze in 2014 in the Commonwealth Games. She also won gold in World Championships ( Glasgow 2019), including Silver in the 2018 Asian Games.
Now, she won the gold medal by defeating Canada’s Michelle Li 21-15, 21-13 in the women’s singles final. She made the right calls and judgements and put up a defensive masterclass to determine her opponent today.
This is the first time India has managed to win three badminton gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. A milestone for Indian badminton.
