Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth is going to collaborate with versatile actor Kamal Haasan for an upcoming film. Both the top stars- Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are teaming up after a long gap of 40 years and this credit goes to Khaidi director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj who is basking in the glory of his recently released directorial venture Khaidi is planning to work with the two superstars- Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. If everything will go accordingly and the stars will team up, it will be a historic moment for the South film industry as it will mark the collaboration of the two big stars after a long gap of 40 years. Reportedly, it is anticipated to be one of the biggest movies in Kollywood.

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are two pillars of Kollywood. While Rajini is known for his mass and his ability to pull the most number of people into theatres, Kamal is all about class and perfection. Kamal Hasan was an established actor when Rajinik made his debut as an actor. Rajini managed to woo audiences with his style and became the king of Kollywood. Both have worked in 9 Tamil movies, 2 Telugu movies and in 1 Hindi movie together. Their popular movies are Thillu Mullu, inaithaley Inikum, Thaayillamal Naan Illai, and Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu. Now once again they are going to collaborate for a project.

On the other side, Currently, Rajinikanth is waiting for the release of his upcoming cop based drama Darbar, in which lady superstar Nayantara is playing the female lead and the movie is directed by AR Murugadoss. The entire shoot of Darbar has been wrapped up already and the movie is slated to hit the theaters on the occasion of Pongal. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is busy in the shoot of Indian 2, which is being directed by Shankar which has Kajal Aggarwal in the female lead.
