Rajinikanth, the superstar of Tamil film Industry, is getting ready to entertain the movie lovers with his upcoming sci-fi drama 2.0 which is gearing up for grand release on 28th November. On Friday, India’s woman boxing icon Mary Kom met Rajinikanth and this news is confirmed by Mary Kom herself as she wrote on her Twitter, “It was nice and so surprise meeting with @rajinikanth the legend superstar #Hollywood #Kollywood.”
A recipient of Padma Bhusan and a Rajya Sabha MP Mary Kom also shared the pic of her with Rajinikanth on Twitter.
The sources said that Mary Kom came to Chennai to participate in an event held by Latha Rajinikanth.
On Thursday, Mary Kom also became the brand ambassador of the upcoming International Boxing Association’s (AIBA) women’s world boxing championships, which is going to be held between 15th- 24th November at Delhi.
Mary Kom is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion, and the only the woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships. She is the only the Indian woman boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, competing in the flyweight (51 kg) category and winning bronze medal and is the first Indian Woman Boxer to win Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Few days ago, Mary Kom uploaded a video on social media that is sending her fans in a tizzy. In the video she is seen fighting a ‘friendly’ match with sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
On the otherside, today the makers of 2.0 starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson released the trailer, which is receiving mixed response by the movie lovers. 2.0 is a big budget, multilingual drama, which is helmed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions.
Apart from 2.0, Rajinikanth will also be seen in Petta, in which Trisha Krishnan is playing the female lead. The shoot of the film has been already wrapped up.
