Ram Charan condemns casting couch in TollywoodRam Charan Teja, the son of Megastar Chiranjeevi  shared his view on casting couch. Recently Ram Charan attended a Talk show ‘Now Showing’ where he touched upon the issue of casting couch and power of Social media.

The issue of casting couch has been one of the most discussed topics in  Tollywood.  It is known news that recently Telugu actress Sri Reddy staged a semi-strip in protest, in front of the Telugu Film Chambers, as part of her struggle against the Casting Couch in Telugu Film Industry and she also abused   Ram Charan’s uncle and Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan.  When Ram Charan was asked about  the existence of Casting couch in Tollywood, he replied,  “I am not taking particular about controversial actress Sri Reddy.  But overall, to hear this word Casting Couch anywhere, in any industry, whether in politics or business industry, doesn’t sound right to anyone. Nobody would encourage it especially when I have all my sisters in same field.”

Ram Charan further said, “I guess  Sri  Reddy’s case has helped us to form a committee in our industry to look into such matters”

 Recently we have reported that Sri Reddy had also questioned the Telangana government and MAA on the absence of a Committee Against S*xual Harassment.

 Later Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce announced that a Committee Against S*xual Harassment (CASH) at workplace to deal with complaints of s*xual harassment.

Recently Tollywood formed a committee to address women issues in the industry. N. Shankar, a newly-appointed spokesperson of the Telugu Film Industry said, “There must be separate washrooms and changing rooms for male and female artistes. And all the  auditions must be held in the presence of at least one woman, and they should be recorded. The industry will identify experienced coordinators and issue identity cards to them, so that aspiring actors do not fall into the hands of the wrong people.”

 On the workside, Ram Charan is  currently enjoying the success of his recently released movie Rangasthalam which has turned out blockbuster at the box office. Samantha Akkineni played the love interest of Ram Charan in this village drama. Apart from lead pair- Ram Charan and Samantha, the movie has other stars Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapathy Babu and Anasuya Bharadwaj in supporting role.  Ram Charan has also signed a movie #RRR  in which he will  act with Young Tiger Jr.NTR in the direction of Baahubali film Maker SS Rajamouli. Currently Ram Charan is also bankrolling his father Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
