Ram Charan undoubtedly gave Sukumar the perfect push with Rangasthalam post the director’s Nannaku Prematho. Apart from Ram Charan’s performance, Sukumar’s direction and screenplay also received lot of applause. Rangasthalam which has turned out blockbuster at the box office, has broken several Baahubali records in various areas. Now according to the latest update, Sukumar is going to make his directorial debut in Bollywood. He has teamed up with none other than Baahubali film maker SS Rajamouli’s father V Vijayendra Prasad, who penned the story of Baahubali: The Beginning, it’s 2017 sequel Baahubali 2:The Conclusion, Kabir Khan’s Indo-Pak drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan starring Salman Khan. And the film will be produced by Eros International.
Fourteen years ago, writer Sukumar got an opportunity to direct his first movie Arya. The producers of the film asked him to learn the list of things he needed to adapt his writing to big screen. Arya was hit at the box office and after this Sukumar delivered number of hit movies. Sukumar is one of the directors who is known for infusing grey shades in the character sketches of the protagonists in his films and is known for his perfection. Now after the release of Ram Charan starrer Rangasthalam, Sukumar is getting the offers from Bollywood and big production houses.
V Vijayendra Prasad is tying up with Eros International to develop scripts, mentor projects and produce and distribute films across Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Recently during the media interaction V Vijayendra Prasad said, “I am writing and producing many projects for them which are presently in the developing stages. I have always believed that content is king, stars and everything else come later. I got a right platform to showcase my talent.” It has come out that all the movies will be made on the budgets between Rs 1 Cr to 100 Cr and one of them will be a periodic drama. But his first movie will be Sukumar and he will make his Hindi debut with this upcoming family action thriller movie. It has also come out that Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan will play the lead role in Sukumar’s directorial venture.
On the other side, after delivering Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni starrer Rangasthalam, Sukumar announced his next project with Mahesh Babu and Mythri Movie Makers. It seems, after wrapping up the shoot of Mahesh Babu’s film Sukumar will go to Bollywood.
Meanwhile Ram Charan is busy in Boyapati Srinu’s upcoming project in which Kiara Advani is playing eh female lead.
